Our Company

Founded in 2001 in the central New York area, Lewtak Pipe Organ Builders, Inc. later relocated to Mocksville, NC, in 2011. At the helm of our operation is Tom Lewtak, whose robust educational background spans both organ building and organ performance. As a streamlined enterprise, Lewtak Pipe Organ Builders distinguishes itself by offering clients an unparalleled level of attention, a distinction often unattainable with larger builders.

Our dedicated team of professional craftsmen diligently works on every project we undertake, ensuring that your investment is allocated exclusively to the finest materials and top-tier labor. Renowned for our meticulous attention to detail, we consider it the highest compliment to be recognized for this aspect of our work. Your satisfaction and the quality of our creations remain at the forefront of our mission.

We consider ourselves fortunate to operate from a facility that would be a dream for any organ builder—a spacious 15,000 square feet filled with clean, naturally lit surroundings set on 15 acres of pristine North Carolina countryside. Our building is thoughtfully organized into four departments: woodworking, finishing, pipe handling, and organ assembly. An aspect of our pride is the shop's commitment to environmental sustainability. Our heating, AC, and hot water systems leverage geothermal technology, the entire building is heavily insulated with open-cell spray foam, and we exclusively illuminate the entire workspace using energy-efficient LED fixtures.

Equipped with this eco-friendly infrastructure, we are fully capable of crafting and rigorously testing even the largest instruments, meeting the demands of our discerning customers. The organ assembly section is particularly noteworthy, occupying a spacious 50’ x 50’ area with a clear span and reaching an impressive height of 32 feet. This dedicated space ensures optimal conditions for assembling and fine-tuning instruments to meet the highest standards of quality and precision.
